Photographing toddlers at the beach requires patience and playfulness. The absolute best moments come when your toddlers are engaged in doing fun things. Here are some tips for family photo sessions with your toddlers. This would include running around, digging in the sand, or running thru the waves.
The day of your session keep a low key day, choose activities that don’t require you to be busy all day or in the car all daya. Maybe let them nap later or if needed put them down for a nap earlier depending on the time of your session. Make sure to bring snacks or a favorite toy your toddler loves. This will especially help shy kids to feel secure. If you know you have an active toddler they will need you to engage more during your photo session. They will not sit long for the session. It always a great idea let your photographer know so they can plan activities to keep them busy.
To keep them happy and engaged, let them be free to explore the beach and you come to them, giving them a hug or a pat on the back or ask for some kisses. Others things you can do is to play with them by digging in the sand or have a race to see who is the fastest. Kids love games so if you have a game that you know they will enjoy then play the game on the beach. Lastly don’t forget to have fun with them, this will help you to relax as well and not be so camera-aware. Rather then forcing poses you will get some amazing photos and I bet you will have fun too.
